Damage to your car bumper is common and easy to restore, whether it's a scratch or a slightly larger crack. All it requires is a plastic repair to the exterior of the car.
The vast majority of bumpers today are made of a plastic material that has been painted the same color as the rest of the car. Therefore, on most cars, it looks like the bumper is made of aluminum like the rest of the car, but in fact most bumpers are made of plastic.
Minor damage to the bumper, such as scratches on the bumper, can be repaired with a simple polish and paint job. Major damage, such as a cracked bumper, needs to be repaired by a plastic repair of the car exterior.
We can repair a plastic bumper regardless of whether it is made of soft or hard plastic. We then repaint the bumper in the same color as before. We use our digital color reading tool to identify the correct color of the bumper, so it will be exactly the same color as before.
The cost of repairing damage to a plastic bumper depends on the extent of the damage and whether the damage needs to be painted afterwards. As a starting point, we offer the following prices for plastic bumper repairs:

When repairing a plastic bumper, there are several solutions depending on the extent of the damage. If you've simply scratched your bumper, the scratches can be polished away with subsequent painting of the bumper. If you have a crack or hole in your bumper, the damage will need to be repaired.
A technician will sand the damaged area to create a smooth surface. Next, a special plastic compound is heated to a thermoplastic state so that it can be molded. This is applied to the damaged area to fuse the hole or crack.
The area is then sanded down again to create an even surface. The repair is completed by restoring the original appearance regardless of whether the bumper needs to be repainted or if the repair needs to be finished with a primer.
