Repairing a hole in car seat

We can repair holes, tears or minor scratches in car seats by doing a regular fabric repair. When we repair a hole in a car seat, we use a special glue and fabric fibers that match the color of the fabric to patch the hole back together. After the repair, the damage will be almost invisible.

If you have a hole, tear or small rip in your fabric seat, it's a good idea to get it fixed as soon as possible. The damage can quickly get worse if buttons from clothes, bags or other objects get caught in the hole and make the damage worse.

If the damage is too severe, it cannot be repaired and you will have to reupholster the entire car seat. As long as the damage is small, it can easily be repaired to a nice result.

How is a hole in the fabric car seat restored?

First, the damaged area is cleaned, and the technician selects fibers that closely match the fabric.

Next, the colored fibers are mixed with a durable, flexible adhesive to prevent the damage from reoccurring. The mixture is heated, allowing the loose ends to fuse and seal the damage. An additional layer of fibers is applied to ensure a smooth, even surface.

Finally, a protective clear coat is applied to secure the fibers and provide long-lasting durability.
